(CARACTERISTICAS EMPRENDEDORAS: ¿POTENCIALES DETERMINANTES DE LA ACTIVIDAD EMPRENDEDORA?) Abstract: Entrepreneurs think and process information differently. Studies have found that the propensity of an entrepreneur in shaping an entrepreneurial venture is linked to his/her personality traits and skills. Universities can play an important role in strengthening characteristics that encourages entrepreneurial activity. This research will aim to propose an entrepreneurial model to foster entrepreneurship in universities. The model takes in considerations entrepreneurial orientation dimensions (autonomy, proactiveness, innovativeness, competitiveness and risk taking) and the dimensions of entrepreneurial intention (need for achievement, locus of control and self-efficacy). Our model introduces a construct denominated as entrepreneurial decisiveness. We defined this construct as the determination to begin and operate a business venture in a specific timeline, entrepreneurial intention as the potentiality to starting a new business and entrepreneurial orientation as the inclination to start a business venture. A sample of 328 students were surveyed through a validated entrepreneurial traits questionnaire. Statistical analysis validated positive relations between dimensions and challenged entrepreneurial orientation dimensions’ prior research outcomes. Our findings suggest that the entrepreneurial phenomenon in an educational environment is a complex one and requires the study of more variables that affect entrepreneurship. Skills and traits alone hardly generate new enterprises, but they certainly guide their development Classification-JEL: L26 Keywords: Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Orientation, Entrepreneurial Intention Journal: Revista Internacional Administracion & Finanzas Pages: 1-15 Volume: 10 Issue: 6 Year: 2017 File-URL: http://www.theibfr2.com/RePEc/ibf/riafin/riaf-v10n6-2017/RIAF-V10N6-2017-1.pdf File-Format: Application/pdf Handle: RePEc:ibf:riafin:v:10:y:2017:i:6:p:1-15 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Nidia Estela Hernandez Castro Author-Name: Zochitl Araiza Garza Author-Name: Edna Isabel de la Garza Martinez Author-Name: Victor Arturo Barboza Alvarez Title: ANALYSIS OF OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN MANUFACTURING COMPANIES (ANALISIS DE LAS CAPACIDADES OPERATIVAS EN EMPRESAS MANUFACTURERAS ) Abstract: Operational capabilities refer to the use of infrastructure and knowledge to manufacture products and services that optimize their use, to achieve levels of efficiency and productivity in companies. This study aims to identify the level of development of operational capabilities for a sample of five manufacturing companies in the central region of the state of Coahuila. We also analyze the relationship between these operational capabilities. We use a quantitative approach consisting of the application of a structured questionnaire to 270 medium/higher level employees at the end of the year 2015. The information was analyzed using the SPSS statistical software using the Spearman Rho Correlation Coefficient. Results show that the most developed operational capabilities in the study companies are: the capacity for innovation and the capacity for improvement. We also found that personalization capacity has a significant relationship with responsiveness. Moreover, cooperative capacity has a significant relationship with the capacity for improvement. These results suggest that the operational capabilities of the companies to customize production, and improve cooperation with its customers and suppliers increases responsiveness and results in performance improvements Classification-JEL: O32 Keywords: Operational Capabilities, Capacity for Innovation, Capacity for Improvement, Capacity for Cooperation Journal: Revista Internacional Administracion & Finanzas Pages: 17-28 Volume: 10 Issue: 6 Year: 2017 File-URL: http://www.theibfr2.com/RePEc/ibf/riafin/riaf-v10n6-2017/RIAF-V10N6-2017-2.pdf File-Format: Application/pdf Handle: RePEc:ibf:riafin:v:10:y:2017:i:6:p:17-28 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Jesus Guillermo Sotelo Asef Author-Name: Manuela Vargas Hernandez Title: IDENTITY AND ITS CORRELATION WITH THE QUALITY OF SERVICE IN A MUNICIPAL DEPARTMENT (LA IDENTIDAD Y SU CORRELACION CON LA CALIDAD EN EL SERVICIO EN UNA DIRECCION MUNICIPAL) Abstract: Identity is the degree of identification that workers have with the organization. Therefore, the more individuals identity with the organization, the better the performance of co-workers. This research is none-experimental, transversal, quantitative, and correlational. Data were obtained by the application of a survey of 49 workers in the country’s administrative judgment. The correlational study was conducted based on Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Results show the workers perceive, in a positive way, the quality and identity in the service. There exists a high level of positive correlation among the quality dimensions. Results regarding identity reveal that the Pearson’s correlations are positive. They share elements which indicate a high level of reliability Classification-JEL: M14 Keywords: Identity, Service Quality and Quality Dimensions Journal: Revista Internacional Administracion & Finanzas Pages: 29-40 Volume: 10 Issue: 6 Year: 2017 File-URL: http://www.theibfr2.com/RePEc/ibf/riafin/riaf-v10n6-2017/RIAF-V10N6-2017-3.pdf File-Format: Application/pdf Handle: RePEc:ibf:riafin:v:10:y:2017:i:6:p:29-40 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Mario Rene Chan Magana Author-Name: Diego Canul Canul Title: STRATEGIC EXCUTIVE MODEL OF COMPETENCES IN A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT (MODELO DE COMPETENCIAS DEL DIRECTIVO ESTRATEGICO EN UN ENTORNO GLOBAL ) Abstract: It is necessary to develop a new competency profile for the people who lead institutions and companies. These dimensions presuppose a link between what is tangible and intangible and the need to achieve better results with greater harmony. To this end a questionnaire was designed and a sample of 312 responses were obtained. The sample participants were mostly Mexican professionals working in various companies in the State of Baja California, an industrial center of first order in Mexico, which borders the State of California U.S.A. The analysis and categorization of the data obtained, as well as the inferred relationship, allowed us to generate a series of useful and applicable results useful to other companies and institutions both public and private. We develop a comprehensive approach to the four dimensions by approaching it with an open mentality. We take into account the necessity of the four dimensions and the reasons why they are not adequate or effective. We also identify the feasibility variables for achieving solutions that can be applied. These results allow us to understand, correct and solve the situations that are present in the daily work realities of people in organizations Classification-JEL: M11, D63, D81, I25, I31, A13, L23 Keywords: Productivity, Ethical Values, Decision Making, Happiness, Job Satisfaction, Business,Organizations, Ethics, Development, Leadership, Evaluation Methods Journal: Revista Internacional Administracion & Finanzas Pages: 87-104 Volume: 10 Issue: 6 Year: 2017 File-URL: http://www.theibfr2.com/RePEc/ibf/riafin/riaf-v10n6-2017/RIAF-V10N6-2017-7.pdf File-Format: Application/pdf Handle: RePEc:ibf:riafin:v:10:y:2017:i:6:p:87-104
